Poppy season
I've got this fixation for so called celebrities who refuse to wear a poppy when on tv.
Mostly Irish and Celtic scum who don't mind working in England.
Piss off back if you can't show respect for the fallen.

As ex Squaddie couldn't give a shit what you don't wear, I have an attitude to what people do wear.
If you are wearing 'Fuck the soldiers' I have a problem, but I haven't got a poppy on (in Oz)
I will be going to Remembrance parade Friday, that's all I care about

Due to my family, I have a lot of Irish on my social media, they go absolutely mental this time of year about the "English" Soldiers, not British, always "English" I'm out in Ireland this weekend as well, so that will be nice.

Poppies make great herioin which is good in war to numb the pain of shrapnel.

Re: Poppy season
When I was growing up I was taught that wearing a poppy showed respect for those who went and never came back, NOT the nations, politicians or political ideology that sent them away. I still believe that.

When did wearing one acquire a (very) different meaning, and who authorised such a change?

MacLean doesn't choose not to wear one. He refuses to wear one

What a moronic statement. But par for the course for the imbecile poster

MacLean doesn't choose not to wear one. He refuses to wear one.

It's an important distinction.., but more importantly, is this cunt still around?

Re: Poppy season
I wear one but have no problem with people not wearing one.

Would you really want James McLean to wear one? It's his choice. At least it's his decision and not him being forced to wear a symbol that would devalue the likes of me and you wearing one. So I prefer that he doesn't wear one.

Jim Davison and Farage don't support the BL either due to them sititng on reserves of £140m I think, and having strict criteria for dishing out support, e.g. only certain types of PTSD eligible.

Ok, if it "fell off", I stand corrected.

I know they are really, really hard to put back on once they fall off.

James McClean, whatever, he's a hypocrite but that's his choice.

But you're wrong on Moeen Ali. He can choose not to wear a Poppy, it's his choice, but fucking representing and CAPTAINING England whilst taking that stance? Absolutely disgraceful.

Has anyone mentioned James McClean yet.....

"hE cAn TaKe ThE eNgLiSh PoUnD bUt NoT wEaR a PoPpy"

Fucking idiots bore my head off. I'm an ex vet and served in Northern Ireland. If he wants to make his quiet stance (doesn't cause a scene at all) then he has every right to do so.

And is happy playing football in England, paying masses of PAYE, which will go towards your and other vets who served in NI, very well deserved pensions. And the salaries of British troops still stationed there.
